My World, My life, My Reflections and My Revelations...

Now I feel like finding something interesting to do.. the days at the office seemed to be getting boring increasingly. Keke, I have been arriving late and leaving on the dot (or early sometimes).. Having long lunches and going for regular coffee breaks.. The whole industry outlook is bleak this quarter, so that makes us having lesser business and enquiries recently.. Indirectly, means we can having more coffee breaks.. One of my colleagues asked me to try Yahoo games.. so could get rid of some boredom.. But it’s quite inbalance as there are some colleagues (Emily for instance) still very very busy.. I think it’s due to the unequal distribution of work bah.. Well, Emily actually commented that my “idling time” now is payback time for last year, when I was super overloaded kekeke… also payback time for her as she was super free then.

Until this point, we still haven’t decided on the hotel venue. I thought yesterday’s meet-the-parents-session at Orchard Hotel is to show the parents the Ballroom and pay the deposit. However, it still round down to zero in the end. To me, my concern is how much I like the Ballroom and also on the price factor. To the parents, their main concern is the banquet menu and carpark space. Orchard Hotel has a very “Lok” carpark, very narrow lanes, poor lightings and really limited lots (450lots nia). It doesn’t concern me as I get a VIP carpark space for my Bridal car at the Hotel entrance! But, all Aaron’s relatives own cars, that’s why his dad is rather concern about it.

We pop over to Marina Mandarin after Orchard. They seemed to prefer the Ballroom with the big crystal chandeliers. However, my experience at Alex Poh’s wedding last Wed at the same place wasn’t really that good.. the low ceiling and gigantic chandeliers seemed to be pushing down at us from the head and it’s like I’m gonna get a heart attack anytime.. also, that night, some of my stupid colleagues got drunk and fought with the Hotel security.. it was such a scene.. with the groom stopping the fight and the bride crying.. walau.. why they had to do that?? It’s somebody’s wedding for goodness sake..! if they dare to do the same at my wedding, I will just call the police and have them all spend the night behind bars…! I am the Hostess leh.. dun spoil my mood…. Men.. huh!!

Over dinner at Melt, we get suggestions like Conrad, Carlton, Grand Copthorn.. all sorts of places.. with the parents’ extensive experience of wedding dinner attendance, we deduced that Swissotel food is lousy.. Shangri-la is over-rated.. and those Hotels with the most no. of stars usually have the worst food.. they may proclaim they have award winning chefs designing the menu.. but the point is.. award winning chefs don’t cook, they only make noises and instruct junior chefs.. It was my first time dinning at Melt, Oriental Hotel.. the buffet dinner is superb! And they even have the chocolate fountain.. it was rather a pity as I don’t have much appetite last night.. in fact, I was having a tummy upset and it got worse after dinner.. I didn’t get to enjoy a lot of dishes.. btw, the dessert bar is wonderful…! I have never been to a buffet with such a wide spread of sweet foods..! there are jars and jars of cookies, biscuits, ect.. there are also freshly made ice-cream waffles, cakes, chocolates.. fruits… and not forgetting the chocolate fountain! And the service is excellent!! Thumbs up for Melt! Price: USD S$52/person. Discounts available with some bank’s platinum cards…

Will be attending Grace Yeo’s wedding at Expo tomorrow evening.. quite excited!
