It’s just another day

The weekend has gone and it’s a Monday again. Needless to say, it’s just another Monday blue…. But I had quite a weekend though. Visit Chris at Body Shop and had a really good BS tour.. My product knowledge now has further improved! Oh ya, the Bilberry Hair spray thingy is really fragrant.. I think I will give it a try once my moisturizer finishes.. hope it can last till Chris opens her own account kekeZzz… I continued my shopping after bidding Chris goodbye. Then I met Jamie at Shaw House Isetan Iora counter! This blind mouse is just beside me when she spoke to her friend. I was thinking… hey, this voice sounds familiar.. as I turned my head, there she is.. Haha, we began a short chat right there.. oh well, her customary wedding is set in November and after the Chinese 7th month, she will start giving out her invitations.. great! Another event to look forward to having FUN 100%!!! Alrighty, I blew 39 bucks right at that Iora counter…

Sunday was fine.. I did my facial at Bishan.. it was a soothing experience and I will make it a point to go regularly.. next appointment is 1 Oct! Children’s Day!

===Product Review===
I started to use Fancl products and over the weekend, they are having this storewide 20% sale. The store was swarming crazy with people.. aunties, ladies, girls, babies, etc etc.. The usual friendly beauty consultants became permanent cashiers.. the Q is super long sia.. I wanted to use this opportunity to stock up, however, couldn’t grab anyone to intro more products.. I just settled on a makeup remover and the TenseUp Ex… Hey girls, this Fancl makeup remover oil is a good performer.. if you have seen the TV ad, its about this guy scientist demonstrating removing a mascara stain from this white egg using the cleansing oil then rinse it off with water.. it is odorless and easy to remove with water.. no oily feel somemore.. usual price is 30.50.. I bought it at 20% off… I am also drinking the Tenseup Ex, TV ad by Clarence Lee, the gayish celebrity makeup artist… so far so good.. hopefully it will act faster than Bird’s nest… I want better skin!! Blame it on my bad genes..!!

The Time Traveler’s Wife

I have finally finished reading this book. It’s about 500+pages and worth 22 bucks from Kinokuniya Bookshop.. You can also get this at Times Bookshop but not at Popular.. So the story’s plot to me, is rather old fashioned. I’m sure most of us have already heard or seen a long long time ago about time traveling people. Whether in books or films. Mostly in films, I guess. The HK movie that got me hooked about time traveling was this one staring Tony Leong. He traveled back to the 1950s where he got to know his parents, during their courtship days. He was never on good terms with his dad only after he time traveled and began to know him better. There was this famous phrase that goes, “Ren Ren Wei Wo, Wo Wei Ren Ren…”

Well, this book was about Clare met Henry when Clare was 6 and Henry 36. They got married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. You should have already guessed how’s the story like. Nothing was really that fascinating to me. But it might be a good effort for a first time novelist, at least the language is fine. Sometimes you got to link the story back and forth, as in some scenes, something happened but Clare knew it and Henry of the future knew it, yet Henry of the present does not know it. When Henry time traveled back historically, there will be 2 Henrys existing at the same time. It sounds pretty strange to me. I can’t get used to the idea that there could be 2 same persons existing in the same time zone. One might belong to the future, but there are indeed 2 live persons you can see at one time.. how strange.. They later got a daughter who is also a time traveler. And in the end, Henry died.. I really don’t get how he died. He time traveled back and got killed. I think I must read those ending pages again as I really don’t understand. This needs some linking.. In general, this is an OK book. But I quite like the language and style though.

I began another book last night. It’s titled “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan”. Sounds cheena? Yes, it’s indeed a cheena book. It talks about a girl, born in the era where foot binding is popular to~~~~ blah blah blah I haven’t got to that point yet as I only read 2 chapters last night. It’s generally talking about her life.. but the footbinding chapter was really gross. The author described rather well. It gave me an eerie feeling.. How could people ever feel that deformed feet of about 7cm long is beautiful?? How could those women endure the pain of footbinding and had to live the rest of their lives as a cripple? Why ancient people got such crazy idea..? I should love my feet cuz at least I can balance well and I am proud to say that I have taken part in running races before… I believe this should be a good book cuz I already felt inspired after last night.. I will continue to read it tonight..!

Wonderful weekend - Tribute to GPC!!

Oh, it’s here again, but I’m so afraid it will end very very soon.. Attended Jean’s Birthday party yesterday.. it was great catching up with the girls again.. GPC is getting larger and larger.. I really like all these young ladies.. as I was telling Chris last night, my friends’ ages are getting smaller and smaller.. all my circle of friends now are Fernie’s friends.. it seems funny but it’s indeed fun.. being with younger people makes you feel a few years younger.. but too bad I am married so cannot behave like a child anymore.. but fortunately I have a fun-loving hubby who’s almost supportive and temperless… kekez, I am lucky afterall.. let’s talk about the girls I love:

Chris – looks so radiant.. happier and having that glow on her face.. starting work today at BodyShop, all the best and sheng yi xin long!! Ops, almost address her bf Edwin as Jimmy the last time they drop by my place.. luckily, the brakes were applied before that happened, so I didn’t get to see Edwin’s black face kekez… Ya, girl, your entries are abit confusing kekez.. but then all’s well ends well.. the final exam results are out.. Edwin gets the scholarship!!

Fernie – prettier =) nice makeup .. really neat.. air stewardess sia.. can non-stop talk about this girl as our history dates back many many years ago.. she reminded me what a copycat she used to be.. imitating my everything, loves whatever I like and hates whatever I dislike… this is my meimei cousin.. I just can’t accept how fast she has grown up.. she used to be so much shorter than me and I always bullied her by resting my arms on her head or shoulders (when she grow taller). Now it’s her turn to do so.. the years never stop me from visualizing her as the young primary school kid tucking in her T-shirt into her Bermudas, that stupid chinadoll bob and those round eyes which she always claimed she has a pair of “ming liang de da yan jing”.. one thing she never changed: the dazed and zoned out eyes/face… if you have caught her signature look, don’t be surprised that it was inborn.. I can go on and on about this girl so let’s skip to the next…

Ee Shi – Oh my, she slimed down so much!! I got to know her last year when I was working temp for Avnet HR. Read her resume and immediately recommend her to the FC and got her a temp job in the finance dept straight after.. All thanks to the photo she inserted into that resume. She has this radiant smile which I think everyone will like.. I called it the sunshine smile.. well, she’s the sunshine girl lor… Her teeth are really straight and bright.. I can visualize her featuring in a advertisement educating kids to brush their teeth properly using Lion Corp toothpaste.. kekez..

Belle – sweet girl.. she seems so stressed out with her assignment.. aiyo.. after one semester maybe you will start to slack hehe.. don’t worry so much about studying la, just do your best.. its contradicting actually.. everyone was saying when you are studying you can’t wait to step out to work.. but when you are working you will start to feel like going back to study.. I have this theory: when I was working full time and studying part time, I feel like dying.. but after graduation and working full time, I feel like just quit and rot.. seems like I am getting from bad to worse.. from a really hardworking girl who keeps thinking of earning all those bucks and studying hard to get a good degree could degrade to such a bum!! Haha… this is me now, can’t wait to enjoy a taitai lifestyle.. perhaps one day Belle will become like me..

Huizhen = Eden = Super Sammi fan – strange, didn’t hear her utter one word of Sammi last night kekez.. she is ever so energetic.. always carrying lotsa things around.. she arrived yesterday with 3 bags and I can guess that they are really heavy! I nickname her Xena.. female hercules kekez.. Same Eden… keeping us well entertained with her new job and everything happening around her.. this is one friend you won’t get tired of cuz there are always new things she will automatically update you kekez… and that mouse pad she was so happy about.. I think that’s a really creative present.. the company gave you that so everyday you will look at it and never forget.. thanks to her silly (but fun) idea that Jean blows out those candles from far, I think that was entertaining.. But do you know that while the exercise was going on and everyone enjoying themselves, there was a big flying cockroach resting on the lamp just right above the cakes…? I was so afraid it would make an emergency landing on the cakes or worse, on Jean’s head.. wahaha.. wicked me.. but I was praying though and it indeed never happened, otherwise it would have scared the birthday girl silly.. kekez

Jean – Levi’s Jeans..?? last but not least, the birthday girl!! I have always heard Fernie mentioned about this primary school friend. But I was confused at one time as I thought Jean and Shuyan were 2 different person.. thanks to our Fernie, sometimes she says Jean sometimes Shuyan.. kaoZ… kekekekez… no more confusion now, Jean is Shuyan and Shuyan is Jean.. =) she is someone new to me.. the newest GPC member I got to know… good impression and she is also a very sweet girl… I guess we would have lotsa fun in the future!! Oh special thanks to her hardworking bf, Daniel, who is bbq-ing non-stop and feeding us with those delicious chicken, beef blah blah blah… they are so compatible I must say… don’t you agree with me..? It’s great to have a bf who would entertain himself while you are busy entertaining your friends.. and it’s all better if he can entertain your friends as well.. All the best, my dears!!

Short of Emmy and Elena last night.. but I’m sure they are having fun somewhere else.. =) We shall all have more fun in the near future.. next event: Chris’ birthday gathering!

Bugis Fever ~

Bugis St became my favourite shopping paradise recently. The endless amount of things I can see, bargain and buy makes me wanna go back again and again. I just wished that I could have endless $$ to buy and buy and buy. Yesterday was the 2nd time the Avnet trio visited Bugis St within 2 weeks. The trio consisted of Emmy, Ah Tan and me. Ah Tan bought a really beautiful pair of red pointed heels at a fabulous price of $25. I was so tempted to buy, but my jumbo feet will never fit into those shoes prettily. I always thought that to wear pointed heels nicely, your feet should not cross size 5. I am 2 sizes away, and for covered shoes, 3 sizes away! In a positive note, I should thank my blessed genes as I can balance well. And by the way, I bought a lovely cropped jacket at 28 bucks, a belt and 2 pairs of stud earrings. Total damage = $43. Emmy got the least damage with just 2 belts, she was the champion the last time round with damage 60 bucks! Excellent shopping experience and I will be back on Saturday to buy a pinkie skirt at $10! Have been waiting for >a week for the stock to arrive!!

Today’s been hectic day at the office. Let’s not mention the ugly things! I’ve repented and will try not to blog stupid things that happened in the office!! =)

Oh well! Tomolo shall rock and roll at Jean’s chalet!! Will take lotsa piX!!! Oh dear, I must really go and charge my battery pack now!! I am feeling super high now, as I start to give myself more things to do and more activities to work on.. I am still trying to work on my workout plan and also on the fitness course thingy.. I am serious about it!! Haha! Time for TV – Jin San Shun – ciaoZ!

Tuesday going on Friday

Another half of the month is gone. 2006 is left with 4.5months to complete the year. In about 5month’s time, I would turn 27.. kaoZzz… I just can’t believe the speed I’m aging after 21. There are several 21-year-old birthday parties going on this August, hope the girls enjoy their youth before they pass like lightning speed.. wohoho!! It's another Tuesday which I am looking forward to Friday =)

Maybe I am allergic to ban3 mian4.. the last time I had a hot tasty bowl was about 3 weeks ago during lunchtime at Ang Mo Kio. As soon as I reached office, I rushed immediately to poo poo… later 3 days consecutively of poo-ing.. I had another bowl for dinner just now, the same thing happened, it was unusual poo-ing.. very watery and loooooong.. yucks, spoil appetite, hope you haven’t had your dinner yet! Okie, I will quit ban mian till further notice…

Girls always need girl friends. Don’t ever think that you should go to your friend whenever you have problem.. even if no problems also can catch up.. How would you know people don’t welcome you if you never knock on people’s door.. I read meimei’s blog.. don’t distance with your friends okie..! If there is no time to meet, there is always email and sms you can count on..! I welcome all those who would like to visit me at my home! Take for example, one Sunday Orange took the initiative to sms me that she wishs to visit me at my home.. I was thrilled as I never thought about it.. and its great cuz there is no place like home.. I really enjoyed the time we chatted, gossiped, ate, etc.. maybe you can come to my house to bake cake.. I really mean bake cake, as I have a conventional oven.. =)

The book I am reading now is “The Time Traveller’s Wife”. I blew 22 bucks on it so I am going to read it slowly.. hope I can come up with the review soon!

Anyone keen on sports programs..? I am thinking of doing aerobics or pilates at Hougang Sports Hall.. Have to keep my machine working before they start to rust..

Monday Blues............................

Another weekend gone with the wind, today marks the beginning of a new week. Did the usual stuff as in most Mondays.. such as snoozing the alarm and dragging myself out of bed thinking, “WHY? WHY AM I WORKING…??” haha, exaggerating.. everything became fine after I am more awake..

Further discussions on my SPA experience with my colleagues and a few of them have expressed interest. I hope I can start accumulating my discount voucher so perhaps I can earn a free SPA! Alrighty, I have already decided on a hot stone massage and ear candling therapy the next time round.. going to build up my health as I feel that I am getting weaker as I grow older.. getting sick more often, face always appear to be green green and metabolism rate dips.. readers, pls focus on health and wellness before you start to regret it!

Watched the evening news.. there is a sadist at old airport road tortured and murdered estimated 10 cats! This man should be sent to hell immediately..! what can a cat do to make a man hurt it so much? Animals are simple creatures and their instinct is to hurt you only if you hurt them or if they feel threatened. Mum and I curse that murderer non-stop and our curses are fully of funny ideas! Such as hopefully his kids will grow to have the face of cats and he can start hitting his kids indoor rather than searching for cats outdoor! Haha! Its going to be another night folding the washed clothes while watching TV and complete with reading a good novel when all the good shows end

Sunday

Got lazier when I grow older. I used to be full of enthusiasm for swimming and now I just slack. Had already packed my swimming gear last night yet couldn’t wake up early this morning to join hubby to Bishan. He dashed off for his basketball at 9.30am while I was still bumming in bed. Not wanting to waste my Sunday away, I drag myself up and got changed. Made a humble breakfast and as usual did some cleaning around the house.

At 10-plus, I pop over to my mum’s place. Thought this is a good way to keep my electricity bill lean by watching TV over at her place (evil laughter). Just can’t stop eating when I’m home, I mean, I’m at my mum’s home. Dunno why I still feel my mum’s home is my home.. always thought home is where the mum is. Guess I am still a little girl, a mummy’s girl kekez.. Ate somemore bread and took a bite of a rice kway. Watched TV while waiting for my nephew to visit. He’s such an energetic fellow. 4 years old and act like an adult.. he’s so strong and I can no longer carry him.. haha, but we had fun though..

At 1-plus, I dashed home and bathed. Then took my sis’s car to Rochor Center where I will pop by Bugis St for a quick shopping. Left hubby at home snoozing as he’s dead tired after that basketball thingy. I bought several belts and a necklace at a bargin! Walked to Little India and continued my journey home. Dropped by Compass Point for some grocery shopping. Bought ingredients for the day’s dinner. Well well the chicken stew turned out to be salty.. guess I still haven’t master the art of estimation.

Sunday just passed like that.. at least I managed to go jogging and did aerobics kekez.. not considered wasted.. I think I will look forward to next Sunday!

Spa-cial Moments

I am in the spa mood.. Just had my spa this morning consisting of a body scrub, wrap and massage at a fantastic price – S$55! This spa therapist is recommended by a colleague who was referred by another colleague. I had a wonderful time as it was relaxing and rejuvenating. The last time I had one was about a year ago, that was in Batam Holiday Inn Resort. I have never had spa in Singapore, only overseas. So far, I had them in Bintan, Langkawi and Batam.. The traditional Thai massage I had in May during Avnet Team building was not considered as one. It was lousy anyway.. not worth mentioning.

The place is at Bartley Road, off Upp Serangoon Road. It was conducted in the house of the spa therapist, a 24-year-old young woman. She used to work for some 5-star spa salons, later quit to start on her own business. It is a clever choice to work from home. No traveling expenses and no rental.. Her house is a 3-storey terrace house which she converted a room on the 2nd level as a Spa room. Everything is very basic. Don’t expect some fancy spa room with whatsoever rustic feel or ambience. With the kind of price I’m paying, this is good enough. Furthermore, I am not an ambience person anyway, just want to get my body scrubbed and rubbed that’s all. The whole experience was rather nice and the lady is nice to speak to.

Ok, now comes the deal, from now till end Sep, all the spa treatments are on 50% discount! That’s why I get such a fantastic price for this deal.. Furthermore, if you are referred by me, you will be entitled to $10 discount voucher which you can use on your first visit! Now log on to: http://www.edenretreatspa.com/index.html and start your relaxing journey!
