The First Week

Have completed one week of service today.. it has been a good change for me.. I like the work environment and have aleady changed my attitude towards working.. I dun mind (at least for now) to wake up early and be the first person in the team to reach the office... and I also dun mind the "long" journey home... the actual journey by bus/train is quick except I have to walk about 30mins everyday.. 15mins from office to Expo MRT and 15mins from 88 Busstop to home.. At least the journey home is still within the 1hr radius.. But I think next week will be better as we are going to renew the season parking for Aaron's sis' car... Kekeke...

And I did a stupid thing yesterday.. My co actually provided 3 free shuttle services from office to AMK, Bedok and Jurong East.. I wanted to try the AMK bus yesterday to see how quick I can get home by transferring at AMK.. who knows.. I reached home only at 7.45pm.. it took me almost 2hrs to get home.. ARRGGHHHHHH..... It was already dark when I got home and I really regret taking that bus!!! Nonetheless, I am never going to take that bus again!!!

Oh ya, the life-story teller.. she is still rattling day in and day out.. and I discovered that she is really lousy at Excel.. being in an MNC for 11yrs, I dun quite believe that she can't even do simple operations... despite being talkative and slow, I still have to give her credit for being an excellent ice-breaker.. we seemed like old friends the first minute we met... and she mingled around so well with the other girls... she is also very nice to me and looked out to me for water breaks, toilet breaks and showed concern as and when... not forgetting her "aunty-ness".. hahaha.. I guess being with her can be fun too... So far, I quite like our team.. the other girls are so sweet and I hope I can be happy here as long as possible.. kekee...

I couldn't resist and bought the River Island shoes!!! $90 after discount... with Fernie and her mummy at Vivocity last Thu... kekee... hope to upload the pic soon!!

Not forgetting the sumptuous dim sum lunch compliment of Fernie's Mum at BOSSES restaurant.. same place.. the chinese name is HEI SHE HUI (Secret society)... hahaha.. the food is great and the bill is............. ex.. kekez

New job, new life

I wake up at 6.30am nowadays, have to reach the bus stop by 7.30am and arrive in office by 8.10am.. I haven't found it tiring yet.. Today, I have completed 3 days' of service safely, still in one piece.. It has been an adventurous 3 days.. my boss is pretty nice so far and I really appreciate the fact that she has specially scheduled a 2-weeks training program for me and another new joinee... It is so unlike Avnet when everything is chaos and even as new joinees, we feel upset as there is never proper training, SOP or whatsoever we can follow.. EMC is far more advanced.. all training manuals are documented, steps by steps listed down very clearly and almost everything is automated and databased.. Still, there are some manual work, otherwise they wouldnt hire us.. ^_^

I admit I am a pretty fast learner.. I mean, pretty and fast learner.. hehehe ^_^ I really hate to commend myself and deflat others, but the other girl is super duper slow..... after 3 days with her, I found that she is terribly talkative.. it's driving me crazy cuz she talks non-stop, and kept complaining about her ex boss, ex company and ex successor.. even to our new boss.. haha.. I think she is really dumb to complain about the ex boss in front of the new boss.. cuz to me, such a person means very hard to work with.. if she can complain about her ex boss, she can complain about the new boss and everyone else... and she also like to compliment herself in front of others... such as "I love to be punctual, I would rather wait for others than others wait for me", "whenever I do something, I will put in my best".. these are well, good things, but preferred to kep it at heart and action rather than be vocal about it... in just 3 days I bet I have already known her entire life story... I think her purpose of coming to work is to TALK... However, I do not want to discount the fact that she is not an evil person.. at least, she is friendly and rather kind to others.. there are always strengths and weaknesses and no one is perfect.. I believe I have some weaknesses too.. kekeke ^_^

So, I am quite looking forward to work now.. except the travelling home portion:

WALK to Expo MRT --> Expo MRT to Tanah Merah and transfer to Pasir Ris MRT --> Bus 88 to Sengkang --> Walk to Mum's home and pick up dinner --> Walk home..

Other than these, life's so far has been great.. I made about 500bucks so far... hahaha...

Poor sales at the last flea market

The total takings is $79.95 after deducting rental, food and cab... There was an idiot who paid 5cents short, otherwise I would have $80 exactly.. It was rather disappointing this time round, blame it on the poor lot space and the sun!!! Could get a heatstroke that day!! In the end, I had to take back a whole luggage of clothes.. Thankfully, I managed to sell all except one pair of Kris' shoes.. Those Cinderella shoes as Fernie mentioned.. it was lucky that we can find people having the same shoe size as her!! Such petite feet!! almost the size of my palms!!

Yesterday was Vesak Day.. As usual, the malls are PACKED! and there was sales everywhere!! I went to Vivocity and I believe Orchard must be crowded.. I am glad I did not go to Orchard.. I found some cute shoes at Tangs and bought 2 pairs, a pair of flatties and the other cute pink heels.. I actually saw another pair of pumps that I really like from River Island.. they were also having huge discounts.. The one I saw was a camel colored, made with pig skin pumps with a large bucket at the side.. It was really British and stylish... But it still cost $90 after the discount.. I gave that up because of the price and I dun really think I will get the chance to wear it often.. But felt a little heart pain cus I really liked it..!!! Arrgghhhh.....

Countdown to work

I am starting to rot at home.. looking forward to work yet can't bear to give up this everyday-is-sunday mood... have to wake up early in the morning and having less time at home to do what I like to do.. haiz.. this is life, have to give up one thing to gain another...

Also looking forward to the flea market on sat! My things and Kris' combined are enough to fill up one lot.. hahaha.. I wonder if the girls will hate us or not.. hehe... Really hope I won't have much leftovers.. really dun want to carry them back.. this time I will sure lelong lelong!!!

Went to Vivocity with my mum on Monday.. The mall is sooooo quiet... I went to Tangs and got a discounted blouse from moonstone.. It was really a bargain considering the material and workmanship.. and it is spendid for work!! 70% discounted from $99 and I got it for $29.10 after deducting $0.60 from my Citibank card.. kekez... Next, I bought another top from my favourite forever21 for $29, discounted from $58! Think my mens is coming, dunno why I got this craving for titbits and I bought $10 worth of foodie from Daiso!!! Not forgetting a bag of chips from Marks & Spencer!! Oh ya, I saw cute pumps from M&S going on discount!! But I didnt buy, worried that my feet will scream from the pain of congested shoes.. But I tried on some of them.. and my feet are only relieved when I wear size EUR40!! They are indeed loose and less tight at the toes.. But I look like a clown with oversized shoes!! So I gave them up though they are really cute and really cheap!!!

Yesterday was rotting day for me.. I spent the morning rotting at home with a book, thereafter went to Punggol Plaza with my parents for lunchie.. then, rotting half the afternoon away in my parents' home, playing with ah pok.. Thereafter, went for a haircut with my mum at a nearby HDB flat.. serviced by an Indonesia Chinese Lady.. It was real cheap, just $5 for me!! She does other hair treatments as well.. I love my new shorter and thinner hairstyle!!

So, this morning was raining and we cancelled our swimming date.. So I will rot again at home.. wahahaha... well, will find something to do... ^_^

New mood

Hi! I've finally signed the contract with EMC and now I am left with 2 weeks of vacation.. It's a heartbreak to give up the job at IBM as I ache for the lesser $$$ I would have earned.. But nonetheless, hope that my choice is the correct one ^_^

Dear is planning a short getaway to Batam.. hehe.. We had wanted to go Taipei but due to his teaching schedule and the upcoming flea market + Vesak Day, we are unable to fit into this 2 weeks' schedule before I start work... So, Taipei will come later ^_^

Really looking forward to the flea market on 17/May and getting rid of those leftovers.. hehe..

These few days have been jam packed with activities.. On Wed, I went swimming then rushed down to Suntec to sign my contract, after that went to watch IRON MAN.. it's a nice show! And Robert Downey Jr still hasnt lost his charm.. I remembered him from my fav movie in 1995 "ONLY YOU" where he acted alongside Marissa Tomei in this romantic comedy.. I have been looking for this VCD/DVD for years but cannot find =( And they have a nice theme song by Michael Bolton "ONCE IN A LIFETIME" that I used for my ROM music... kekez...

On Thu, I met up ah mei for spa then lunch, shopping, dinner, shopping, etc etc... the Javanese massage was really good and I found that we got a good deal for that! ^_^ Fri, another jam packed day, we went swimming, lunch at the newly renovated AMK market, Novena Sq to pick up Ka-Ka and then to Chinatown... ended the day at 8+.. it was really tiring but fun.. and I slack the whole day at home on Sat... kekez...

Hello, I'm back in May again.. Will be going for an interview at IBM today at 4pm.. On the other hand, the contract at EMC is ready and the agency is urging me to sign asap.. But I am stalling for time now as I have this chance with IBM.. Hehe.. Now we shall see which co pays better ^_^ One load off my mind.. I have about 3 more weeks to enjoy before officially starting work.. So far I am rested for almost 3 months.. but I still think it is very short and it passes so quickly... =( How I wished I could rest forever... haha.. having $$$ fall from the sky... *DayDreaming*

Quite upset with somebody... but let's not talk about it... didn't really feel happy today.. hope I can still pass the interview later... But anyway, I do hope to start work asap so I can see $$$ in my Bank account again... ^_^
